Runway Settings: Untapped Potential

Fashion shows are more than just collections; they are artistic events in which no detail is left to chance. The runway settings are therefore of paramount importance.

Dior added real value to its experience this year. Following its show, Dior is offering the general public the chance to discover the setting for its spring-summer 2024 haute couture show. The show took place in the sculpture gardens of the Rodin Museum, and access was open to all holders of a Rodin Museum ticket. On the weekend of 27-28 January, the doors were open to Parisians and tourists alike, who were able to experience the magic of the house of dreams.

This was an interesting operation, because it enabled the House of Dreams to extend its reach while at the same time creating a highly confidential experience. Besides, fashion shows are not usually accessible to outsiders.

Then, for the set design of this Dior haute couture spring-summer 2024 show, twenty-three oversized dresses, each around five metres high, are arranged on a composition of irregular black bands. They echo the dresses of the Ottoman sultans, studied by Isabella Ducrot, the designer of this sublime installation.

This spotlight on the house’s prestigious runway settings could surely be a source of inspiration for others in the coming seasons.

So, did you enjoy this unique experience?
